Dean Bowen - Administrator
Mr. Bowen has been involved in education for over sixteen years.
Previous to teaching, he worked as a juvenile counselor for the East Tennessee Court System. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology from Oakland University, and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. Mr.
Bowen is also an Adjunct English Professor at Baker College. Dean’s great satisfaction is to see a child realize
and believe that he or she has the ability and gifting to succeed.

Vicky Freeman
Mrs. Freeman has been teaching for over 20 years and she currently teaches the fifth
and sixth grades. She completed her Teaching and Art Education Degree from Calvin College. She enjoys scrapbooking, sewing,
drawing, and, of course, riding her Harley.

Kayla Gardner
Mrs. Gardner has been teaching for over 20 years and she currently teaches the third
and fourth grades. She completed her Elementary Education Degree from Mid-America Nazarene University. She enjoys cake decorating,
reading, walking, and women’s ministries (Apples of Gold).

Lindsey Rohde
Mrs. Rohde has been teaching for 6 years, and currently teaches Pre-K and Kindergarten.
She completed her Elementary Education Degree from Cornerstone University. She serves on the WCA Curriculum Committee and
she enjoys being a mother to Naomi (A.K.A. Baby Sweet), reading, doting on her dog, working with youth alongside her husband,
and of course, shopping.

Lisa Taylor
Mrs. Taylor currently teaches the first & second grades, and is a recent graduate
of the University of Michigan-Flint where she obtained her degree in elementary education with three minors: language arts,
social studies, and early childhood education. She has also completed a course through the 4C in Signing With Young
Children. Mrs. Taylor interned at the Early Childhood Center of the University of Michigan-Flint. She belongs
to the Oakland County Reading Council and she serves on the WCA Curriculum Committee. She has a passion for music -
she plays two instruments, the flute and the piano; and she sings in her church choir. She also enjoys any outdoor sports
(she's the reigning badminton champion of the Taylor family!)
Dawn Vito
Mrs. Vito and Mrs. Phelps (not pictured) are talented Art teachers who instruct in various
art media allowing students to express their artistic abilities. Mrs. Vito enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and photography.

Isabelle Florence
Ms. Florence teaches Sign Language classes for all grades (Pre K - 8th).
Ms. Florence has been teaching since 1976. She attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a Social Work degree
in 1984. Ms. Florence then went on to graduate school and received a dual Masters one in Speech Pathology/Audiology and another
in Blind Rehabilitation Teaching, graduating with honors suma cum laude in 1987. Ms. Florence has taught computer lab
and language arts in a pre-k to 1st grade Montessori school. Ms. Florence has been teaching sign language and interpreter
training courses at Mott Community College since 1990. Ms. Florence specializes in teaching deafblind and multiple handicapped
individuals. Ms. Florence has been a speaker at numerous workshops, conventions, and camps. Ms. Florence is also involved
in organizations such as American Association of the Deafblind, Self Help In Michigan Equalizing the Deafblind (SHIM=db),
American Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired, and Self Help for the Hard of
Hearing. Ms. Florence is currently serving as President on the board of SHIM=db. Ms. Florence is a dedicated teacher and feels
that everyone can learn regardless of any handicap or barrier to learning; everyone has a right to a successful education.

Jonathan Anderson
While finishing his studies in Music Education at the University of
Michigan - Flint, Mr. Anderson teaches our general music classes to the third through eighth grade students. He has
been teaching piano and vocal lessons for nine years and is convinced that learning music should be an interesting, exciting
experience for students of any age. He is the music director at his church, and loves mentoring kids in any way he can.
